Sarah M. Meinhart

Sarah M. Meinhart focuses her practice in probate and estate planning, probate and trust administration, special needs estate planning, and guardianships and conservatorships. Ms. Meinhart practices in Washtenaw, Lenawee, and Monroe Counties. She is a Public Administrator for Washtenaw County, and serves in this capacity in Monroe and Lenawee Counties as well. She has served upon the court’s request as an Independent Personal Representative and Conservator in addition to serving as a Guardian Ad Litem. 

Sarah knows the incapacity or death of a family member or friend may not only bring about legal issues, but also presents potential interpersonal dynamics.  As an attorney and counselor, she’s able to navigate these issues as they arise. She is knowledgeable about the law and the rights of parties, which she couples with the ability to delicately approach intricate circumstances. She is able to properly administer a decedent’s estate through probate with the court or through trust administration, petition for guardianship/conservatorship for an elderly or special needs loved one, and structure estate planning tailored to unique circumstances. 

Before joining PSED, Sarah ran cross country & track at Albion College. After graduation, she attended Ave Maria School of Law in Ann Arbor. She started her private practice shortly after, while also coaching cross country & track at a local high school, taking her team to the State Competition in cross country. Having previously run the Boston Marathon, she continues her passion for sportsmanship in starting a third decade of racing in our local Dexter-Ann Arbor ½ Marathon.

Community Service

Sarah served as Treasurer of the Sarah Caswell Angell Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution from 2019 to 2022.

She has also been an “angel” runner with myTeam Triumph whose mission is to enrich the wellbeing of individuals with diverse abilities and foster lifelong relationships via community athletics. It provides specialized race equipment, facilitates training runs and lends race day support so people of all abilities can come together as a team in endurance events.
